Description
Rakkar has a pretty impressive physique, while not very tall he is very broad, with heavily-muscled arms and legs. If just as nimble as his sister, he is certainly somewhat slower than she is - both physically and mentally. In combat, he likes to pretend he's bigger than in actuality, raising his backfin and assuming a somewhat hunched posture. Not that he *can't* really grow larger, it's just that this is easier - when he does, it's rather difficult to approach him without getting speared through the chest.
Personality
Rakkar is somewhat creepy, as he has a tendency to tune out occassionally or mutter unitelligible things under his nose. Just quiet enough for the water not to carry the words well. And because his eyes shine in the dark, even in pitch black conditions. He likes life's simple pleasures, like food and - in the Above - drink, not to mention hunting and mating. In search of all four, he has ventured to many places, often vanishing for months on end, walking the waterless bottoms. It's there he learned to speak the language of the creatures that dwellt outside water, and also where he got the armour that doesn't rust (with minor modifications for his fins). Of all his family, he like his youngest sister best. She amuses him greatly by, well, reminding him of himself when he was a youngster - particularly by desiring to know of the places without water.
Background
Rakkar is somewhat well-travelled for one so relatively young - and a member of his race. He knows the language of the air-breathers, and can mingle with the right set of clothes to disguise him - though walking like they do is rather uncomfortable. He has visited most of the nearby Sundaran coast, as well as numerous islands jutting from the water of the ocean. His minor talent at what he considers to be some strange magic is the result of a 'brief' meeting with a certain aboleth which has taken up residence in a land-locked lake on a tropical island near the equator. Rakkar went in for a brief swim and ended up a slave of the creature. Exposure to the aboleth's alien intellect was enough to trigger some changes in Rakkar's own mind - which failed to go away even after he'd eventually escaped, breaking the mental enslavement, after about two weeks of captivity, acting as the aboleth's foodbringer.
